Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

This policy explains what information 123 Car Buying collects through www.123carbuying.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. 123 Car Buying is a used car dealer at 2133 W Foothill Blvd Ste A, Upland, CA 91786, and a business of GSHS LLC.

Information you give us

When you use a form on this website, we receive what you type in:

  • Contact Us: your name, email, phone number, the topic, your message and how you prefer to be contacted.
  • Sell Us Your Car: your vehicle's VIN or license plate and state, mileage, whether you still owe on it, condition notes, your name, phone, email and a preferred appraisal date.
  • Car Finder: the car you are looking for, your budget and must-have features, your name, phone and email.
  • Text messages: whether you agreed to receive text messages from us.

Credit applications

Credit applications are not filled out on this website's own forms. When you click "Apply for Financing" or "Start Secure Application", you go to the secure, hosted credit application of our dealer management system, DealerCenter, where you enter sensitive details such as your Social Security number, date of birth and income. Your application is then available to authorized 123 Car Buying staff in DealerCenter so we can process your financing, and it is shared with the banks and finance companies we submit it to. DealerCenter also has its own privacy and security practices.

Using DealerCenter does not change our own responsibilities: we protect financing information as federal law requires, and if you finance a vehicle with us you will receive our financing privacy notice.

Please do not type a Social Security number, bank account or card number, or other sensitive financial information into our Contact Us, Sell Us Your Car or Car Finder forms.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server records basic technical information for each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time. We use it to keep the website working, secure and free of spam.

This website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics tools, and it does not track you across other websites. Because of that, we treat all visitors the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal. If we add such tools in the future, we will update this policy first.

Outside services that load on our pages

Some parts of our pages come from other companies. When your browser loads them, those companies receive technical information directly from your browser, as described below. For the VIN lookup, the VIN you enter is also sent. The other information you type into our forms is not sent to these services.

  • Google Fonts: our pages load their typefaces from Google, which receives technical information such as your IP address when the page loads.
  • VIN lookup: when you type a full VIN on the Sell Us Your Car form, your browser sends the VIN to the free vehicle decoder of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to show the year, make and model. We do not send your name, phone number or email with it. Like any website, NHTSA receives technical information from your browser, such as your IP address; see NHTSA's privacy policy.
  • Vehicle photos: car photos are loaded from DealerCenter's image server, which receives the same kind of technical information.

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and contact you about the car, trade-in, appraisal or search you asked about.
  • To help you apply for financing, when you ask us to.
  • To send text messages, only if you agreed to receive them.
  • To protect our website from spam and misuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. The information you type into our forms goes only to:

  • Companies that help us run our business and only act for us: our website host (Namecheap), where form messages are delivered from and a copy is kept; our email provider (Microsoft 365), which delivers them to our staff; our dealer management system (DealerCenter), when we enter your inquiry there; and DealerCenter, the customer system we use to send text messages and emails about your inquiry.
  • Banks and finance companies, only when you apply for financing.
  • Government agencies or others when the law requires it, for example vehicle registration with the California DMV.

We do not share your information with other companies for their own direct marketing (California "Shine the Light" law, Civil Code section 1798.83). Technical information that outside services receive directly from your browser is described in "Outside services that load on our pages" above.

Text messages

If you check the box to receive text messages, we may text you about your inquiry, appointments and vehicles. Our texts are sent through DealerCenter. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, and we will honor it promptly; reply HELP for help. You do not have to agree to texts to buy a car or use our website. Your mobile number and your text-message consent are never shared with or sold to anyone for their marketing.

123 Auto Center, our sister repair shop at the same address, is a separate business with its own customer system (Tekmetric). Agreeing to texts from 123 Car Buying does not sign you up for messages or promotions from 123 Auto Center. We share your information with 123 Auto Center only if you ask us to arrange service or repairs there.

Emails

If we email you about vehicles or offers, every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days. You will still get emails about a purchase or a request you made with us.

How long we keep it

How long we keep information depends on what it is for. Form messages and inquiries that do not lead to a purchase or sale are kept as long as they are useful for following up with you and for our business records. If you buy, sell, trade or finance a vehicle with us, your transaction records are kept for as long as California and federal law require dealers to keep them. Web server records are kept only for a short time for security. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your choices and rights").

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form messages are delivered only to our staff, and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law. California residents may have additional rights under state law. To make a request, email information@123carbuying.com or call (909) 527-2444. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.

Children

This website is for adults shopping for vehicles. It is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to other websites, such as DealerCenter's credit application, 123 Auto Center, Facebook, Yelp and Google Maps. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
